Masaya is considered the cradle of Nicaragua folklore national. This
is because many of the cultural expressions of the country, the music ofmarimba ,
traditional dances, the gentry adages Castilians with any legitimate
Amerindian integration, its precepts wise and cheerful, its craftsmanship and
its complex and varied culinary traditions have in this picturesque city the
lineage of what is Nicaraguan. Thus the 23 Octoberof 2000 the
National Assembly of Nicaragua Masaya named "Folklore Capital of
