Tacarigua de La Laguna is situated at the north-eastern part of Rio Chico. It is a fishing town that gave its name to the surrounding lands, officially declared National Park in 1974, to protect this ecologically important zone. Its inhabitants live on the abundant fishing from the lagoon and working as tourist guides, riding you along the creeks surrounded by luxuriant vegetation crammed with gorgeous exotic birds and fine beaches
