The principal activity of the municipality
is the exploitation of the primary sector, which is the traditional type. emphasizing
the cultivation of passion fruit farming, cocoa being the main producer in the
subregion, contributing 80.1% of total production, coffee, cassava, citrus,
tree tomato, blackberry, sugarcane, among others; part in livestock have dual
purpose cattle, swine, poultry, fish and horses.
