The majority of people in Leeds identify
themselves as Christian. Leeds does not have a Church of England Cathedral
because Leeds is part of the Anglican Diocese of Ripon and Leeds and the
Cathedral for this Diocese is in Ripon, although the Bishop's residence has
been in Leeds since 2008. The most important Anglican church is Leeds Minster,
