The Domasa Dam Lake was built by blocking the Ondava river course at the
village of Velka Domasa. The villages of Dobrá nad Ondavou, Trepec, Kelca,
Valkov, and Petejovce and their environs were flooded. The construction began
in 1962 and was completed in 1967. The lake’s water surface, which is
14 km (8.7 mi) long, 4 km (2.5 mi) wide and between 18 and
32.5 m (59 to 106 ft) deep, covers an area of 1,510 hectares (3,731 acres).
