The town’s pride is the Corpus Christi procession. For many years, tourists
from both Poland and abroad, come to Łowicz to take part in the procession,
because – apart from its religious dimension – it is also a great element of
the Polish folklore. In the formal procession led by the Łowicz Bishop, the
procession participants reach four consecutive altars located in different
places in the town. What tourists particularly want to see is the part of the
procession wearing Łowicz folk costumes, with children pouring flowers,
carrying beautifully embroidered cushions and with adults carrying statuettes
of saints
