while Peru's northern beaches are supposedly marvellous during the
coastal summer (December-March), the winter brings cloudy days. Wetsuits mean
that you can surf even during coastal winters, but during the months of
June-September, be prepared to wear long sleeves in the evenings, and don't
expect sunny days.
