Jifna is located in southern Samaria, on the slope of a hill, standing at an
elevation of about 661 meters (2,169 ft) above sea level. It is situated
at the intersection of two ancient trade routes, the mountainous north-south
route and the east-west route connecting the Jordan Valley with the Mediterranean
seacoast. In 1945 its land area consisted of 5,939 dunams, 52 dunams of which
were classified as built-up area in 1945. Today Jifna has a total jurisdiction
over 6,015 dunams, 420 of which are designated as built-up and roughly 2,000
planted with olive, apricot and other fruit trees.
