Matagalpa has several interesting monuments worth visiting. Among them:
Matagalpa Cathedral , the third largest cathedral in Nicaragua and one in the north of the country for its eclectic style between Baroque and Neoclassical.
Parish of San Pedro, style neoclassical , built by the Jesuits in 1874 .
Chapel of St. Nicholas Black Forest built by descendants of German immigrants.
