small village of Tipova is located at a distance of 100 km north of Chisinau.
The Tipova Monastery is Eastern Europe’s oldest and largest monastery. The
ancient monastery located along the banks of Nistru River and was established
in 8th century BC. According to the legends, the famous ruler of Moldova Stefan
the Great got married to his wife Maria Voichita at this monastery
