The main library in the city of Telšiai is Telšiai Karolina Praniauskaitė regional public library located in the city centre. It was established in 1922. In 1967 it was elected as the best district library in Lithuania. In 1997 the library was named after Karolina Praniauskaitė, the very first poet of Samogitia
