The municipality is part of the Tinjacá
Boyacense Alto Ricaurte Province. Bordered on the north by the municipalities
of Sutamarchán , on the south by the town of Ráquira and San Miguel de Sema ,
on the east by the municipalities of Ráquira and Sutamarchán and on the west by
the municipalities of Chiquinquirá and Saboyá
