The name of San Sebastian de Tenerife, is
due to a Spanish custom in which to found or conquer a town was given the name
of the Holy Church celebrated that day and that day happened to be celebrating
the martyrdom of St. Sebastian . Meanwhile the name of Tenerife was
because the founder conquistador Captain Francisco Henriquez, a canary would
grace with his boss Gonzalo Fernandez de Lugo who was a native of the Canary
Islands (Spain) and the then Governor of Santa Marta and do Indian
settlement in a town called Villa de San Sebastian de Tenerife, which once had
the
