The municipality is located in northeastern
Neiva on territories in which two different regions can be distinguished: the
first to the west and the vast plain between the Magdalena River and the foot
of the Cordillera Oriental and the second to the east, extending from the foot
of the eastern mountains to their summits over 3000 meters, irrigated by the
waters of the Fortalecillas, Villavieja and Magdalena rivers.
