According to historical tradition owes its
name to a primitive Inca voice Tangua who took a tribe whose leader
was called Tangua , who entered this region by Guamuez River ,
east of the Department of NariƱo. This name has been preserved through
time and only for a few years the name was changed to San Rafael ,
