The town of Sátivasur, is prior to the conquest.
The village and tribe were governed by a chief, under head of
the powerful lord of Tundama or Tunja. The
Sativa Indians worshiped the sun, moon, trees and stone idols. They
were warlike and held battles with enemy tribes. Over
the conquerors by Tunja and fighting with the Spaniards Tundama chieftain and
his tribe, this sovereign Chibcha called all the chiefs of his unit
