In the early sixteenth century, the
indigenous nation of Ancermas inhabited the space between the tops of the
Western Cordillera of Colombia and the Cauca River, from the Southwest to the
northern Antioquia department Valley today. There were several tribes whose
binding was greater in the current West Old Caldas. The territory of the
present municipality of Riosucio was inhabited by various tribes Ancermas. One
of them, the Pirsa, occupied the basin ImurrĂ¡ or Rio Sucio; other three, it
seems, stretched across the river basin and Gold AurrĂa or breaks, one of the
IPA; and another, that of zopia,
