Another version, the product of oral tradition claims that the December 8, 1752, a group of farmers and ranchers who came from the town of Santo Tomas atlanticense made the foundation of the "Site of the Conception of Swirl". However, data from the Historical Archive of the Magdalena Municipality confirmed that Whirlpool was founded long before the towns of Santo Tomas and Palmar, including the founder of Palmar, a Mr. Varela, was first established in Swirl.
