Ragonvalia was founded on September 30,
1877 due to the civil war of 1860 to 1862, was created Ragonvalia thanks to the
migration of some neighbors Chinácota the Poplar (now Pamplonita ) and a group
of neighbors from Villa del Rosario ( Norte de Santander) dating back to the
1870s it was the banks who emigrated Tachira River (river border between
Colombia and Venezuela) trasmontando the range. Thus, the first camp
