The main feature of municipiality of Puerto
Rico is agricultural, for in its territory mining or industrial activity is not
given. Agricultural crops, cattle fattening, commerce and government are the
largest employers. The figures on employment and unemployment are worrying to
the extent that the increase is more dependent on macroeconomic policies,
especially those relating to the field that municipal actions. There is no need
for that, especially agricultural, productive activity can develop with greater
assurance and thus generate a good return infrastructure.
