The people of Puerto Guzmán was founded on
1 May 1975 by Mr. JORGE JULIO GUZMAN and Mrs. SINAY ROCHA DE GUZMAN, but as
Municipality of Puerto Guzmán, Department of Putumayo, is relatively new as it
began its political and administrative life January 1, 1994, created by
Ordinance 013 of 24 November 1992 issued by the Departmental Assembly of
Putumayo, the municipality is located on the right bank of the Caquetá River,
located in the northeast of the Department of Putumayo, with an extension of
