It is believed that the name of Palestine
is due to the religion of the settlers, as this name recalls the land that
Jesus habit. It was founded on October 20, 1855 by settlers from Antioquia and
Arauca, motivated by the heights, decided to build the village on the hill,
where the extensive coffee landscape, pride of a race which has maintained its
agricultural vocation currency. Its founders were Montegranaro Hoyos, Anacleto
Lopez, Angel Eusebio, Jose Giraldo, Antonio Vélez Restrepo and Patrick Isaac
