In the old way of the Spanish conquerors who drove from Santiago de Arma to the province of Antioquia , a village was founded in the year 1619 with the name of Sabaletas, now known by the name of Montebello.

Initially Montebello Montebravo bore the name, and was Juan Antonio Ríos who traced the old town and changed the name to the present. He also took the name of Eagle Nest.  

Today it is a small town, but whose progress has been tied
