1866

established the invocation to
the
Archangel Raphael
.
The area of influence of this parish
then included parts of what is now Sardinata and Lourdes, which then formed
part of these municipalities since the founding of their parishes by the
department consecutive colonization.
In
1888
with
the relocation of the village is the old parish church was reconsecrated and
start building a new one in its current location.
As of May 29 of 1956 the parish of San Rafael de Gramalote
ceases to belong to the Diocese of Nueva Pamplona to become part of the diocese of Cucuta .
