The municipality of Floresta was founded under the
Spanish government in 1818.The former territory was
inhabited by the ethnic tobosas muisca .He
was part of the territory of Santa Rosa de Viterbo and the indigenous people of
TobasÃa.His name is related to their fields of flowers.
