The founding date of El Tambo corresponds
to the September 15, 1641, which was found by paleographic transcription of documents
contained in the Institute of Historical Research "José María
Arboleda" sixteenth-century. Sergeant Joseph Francisco Carreño,
Governor and Captain General of the province, met the Indians to find out their
treatment, payment, maintenance, quality and extent of land and the number of
people that made up the village and imposed a gift IGNACIO VIRCACHA, husband of
the chieftain of this village as Dona Manuela BETE MAQUIANO MANUEL, MANUEL
