The methodological application to characterize agricultural production systems in homogeneous biophysical identifies spaces, determinants productive, technical and socioeconomic characteristics of the location and handling of each system production, the definition of the problem and technology options that can be evaluated through institutional actions.

The definition of homogeneous spaces is based on the relationship of physical factors (soil, climate), biotic (cover and land use) and socio-economic aspects related (costs, prices, resources used), production (production volumes, yields) , market (infrastructure, marketing) and services (technical assistance, credit) and others.

In the town of El Rosario, through a participatory workshop held on October 16, 2001 with producers and technicians area, the existing production systems were defined by thermal floor, were identified within these, agricultural or livestock production activity with the respective areas, and potential major crops and availability of services and resources for production
