The rapid development of
the population in the district of El Doncello looked accompanied by the opening
of access roads, schools, health posts, the expansion in transportation and
other public services, until its residents and leaders felt that it was now
time to give to Doncello the opportunity to turn it into a cell most important
administrative and October 12, 1967 by Decree No. 1678 of September 7, 1967
signed by Mayor Octavio Macias Ramirez and Government Secretary Juan Puyo Falla
this territory was promoted to the category of Municipality and its first Mayor
Mr. José Ignacio Rojas, awarding it the tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit of
the population.
The National Electricity System
was installed in 1986, thanks to the work of the Association of Businessmen and
Industrialists of El Doncello, headed by Luis Alberto Gonzalez Ovalle, Papamija
Gentil, Saul Hurtado, Hurtado and Jesus Ramon Ordonez, among others, who
implusaron also well with Captain William Espitia creating Volunteer Fire
