Initially Carurú was a township ,
established in 1967 . On 7 August 1993 he was elevated to the caategoría of
town . Vaupés Carurú Township was elevated to the category of town on August 7,
1993 by ordinance number 03 issued by the Departmental Assembly of Vaupés.
Initially a township created and geographically delimited by curatorial Decree
No. 28 of 10 March 1967 and approved by Resolution No. 000403 of 30 May 1967
issued by the Ministry of Government
