The territory of this town was part of the
jurisdiction of Villavieja under the name Otter, probably from the name of the
creek that bathes.Much of the area Baraya,
understand the boundaries of the property currently known also as Reyes and
possibly being named by its original owner the priest Mario Tadeo de Reyes,
pastor of Neiva.It should be noted that the
Hacienda Reyes had most of the territories of the present municipalities of Villavieja
, Tello and Baraya.
