peaks which give way to mesas to the North. The Verde River, which feeds the mighty cottonwood trees that give the town it's name also plays home to fish and fisherman alike. The town has grown from a small farming community to the Verde Valley's population center.

Just north of the Verde Valley is Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, and farther along is Flagstaff.

The Verde Valley is easily accessible off I-17. The area is about 50 miles south of Flagstaff and 90 miles north of Phoenix
