Travel to New York City

(Islip Airport) (IATA: ISP) is located in Ronkonkoma (Town of Islip) on Long Island. The airport is served by Southwest Airlines, a major discount carrier in the US. US Airways has a minor presence at the airport.

To travel between the city and ISP:

A shuttle bus (10 minutes, $5) operates between the ISP and the Ronkonkoma Long Island Railroad station. From there, you can take a train to Penn Station in Manhattan. (1.5 hr, $12.75 off peak/$17.50 peak). The Long Island Railroad offers a discount package ($17.50 per adult for shuttle+train to Manhattan)

There is also the S57 bus from the airport to Ronkonkoma for $1.50. However, it isn't coordinated with the trains like the shuttle is.

BoltBus bus shuttles to Manhattan from the Courtyard by Marriott hotel near the LIRR station. Tickets are approximately $7 to $10 one way.

Hampton Jitney bus services from Ronkonkoma to Manhattan cost $25; the bus stop's a short cab ride away from ISP. .
