History of Katwijk

In 1944 there was a group of women caught in the old hospital of Katwijk . The women were between 7 and 10 October 1943 in a raid in Paramaribo arrested on suspicion of prostitution, and were initially confined in Fort Zeelandia . On Katwijk they had to sew uniforms for the Surinamese Militias . In April 1944 they left the plantation Rest and Work
