Predeal is a town in Braşov County, Romania. It
is the highest town and one of the most important mountain resorts in Romania,
being located on the Prahova Valley at over 1,000 m (3,281 ft). The name is
derived from the Romanian archaic form "pre deal" which means "before the hill" or from
the Slavic word "predel",
