Trieste. The town was connected by railroad with Mursko Sredi�?e and Lendava in 1889 and in 1893 electrical power was introduced. ?akovec was the seat of a district (Hungarian: j�r�s) in Zala county of the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918. It again became part of Hungary between 1941-1944 during World War II, until it was captured on the 6 April 1945 by the Soviet Red Army with Marshal Fyodor Tolbukhin in command
