In the year 1729 the temple was completed that exists today as the first parish priest Fr. Juan de Herrera. On August 7, 1884 with the law 42 was elevated to district. In 1860 and during the civil wars was destroyed by fire wasting your district category by Decree No 650 of October 13, 1887, decree was repealed by No 70 of 1889
