Toluviejo
Municipality, is the oldest municipality of Sucre Department, located in the
northwest coastal area of the Gulf of Morrosquillo.He was parish Indians, discovered by Don
Pedro de Heredia on March 19, 1534, who gave the name of Villa de San José de
Toluviejo in honor of the date of its discovery and the highest indigenous
authority.
