the land of the present city of Capiro, dominated the county's chief Maitama,
submitted and acknowledged by Robledo in 1541. Since 1544 its territory
depends on the city of Santiago de Arma. From 1750 impirtancia acquires any starting point of the
road leading to the town of Mariquita in the mountains. From 1777-1812 depend on the
city of Saint Nicholas the Great of Rio Negro, and from the latter date will be
distritocon about 2,000 inhabitants
