The history of San Pedro de Urabá is just
beginning. His birth took place at the height of violence in northern Colombia
. It is known that in 1948 and began to move northward entire families fleeing
the scourge, and many came to a place, known as "The Pirú" by local-,
in forested regions near the San Juan River where today sits the town. Some
forest uprooted and settled in the region. Gradually more settlers were
arriving after news of a good economy there could be developed because of the
