the initiative of the inhabitants of the region decided to move the town to
where today is located, is placed Paimadó name only, because of the proximity
to the mouth of the creek of the same name. Thanks to Law 136 of 1994 on the
initiative of some residents of the region, lovers of progress; all belonging
to the Río Quito, the idea to erect a new territorial entity in the year 1995
and it was so after countless trips and meetings, the idea materialized in 1999
on 25 April through the administrative act of the Departmental Assembly No.
004; ordinance was enacted in Paimadó current county seat of Rio Quito by the then
governor of Chocó Dr. Hinojosa Juan B. Cossio, prior approval of the
Departmental Assembly Honorable fully with its three intervening in the
following Members: Waldo Pascual Gamboa Potes, Américo Lozano, Milton Eleazar
Moreno Lemus, Vladimiro Ricardo Rios, Solomon Parra and others that escape. In
the same year 0285 Departmental Decree No. 25 1999, was named Social Worker as
mayor CANDELARIA SANCHEZ CORDOBA (E) of the Municipality; position he held
