Initially Mutatá so called due to an Indian word, mutated, or Rio de Piedra. Just another appellate district's Valley of the stones. Before the district called Mutatá Pavarandocito was called following the appellation of the river of the same name which had initially caused the first settlement. As such it is a very young town. Its official founding year is 1944 .
