Gravdal is a village in the municipality of Vestv�g�y in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the island of Vestv�g�ya in the central part of the Lofoten archipelago, north of the Arctic Circle. The village is situated along the shore of the Buksnes fjord, approximately 72 kilometres (45 mi) west of the town of Svolv�r and 63 kilometres (39 mi) east of � in Moskenes. The 1.41-square-kilometre (350-acre) village has a population (2011) of 1,581. The population density is 1,121 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,900 /sq mi). Of the more famous people that have visited Gravdal, His Royal Highness King Haakon VII visited once in the 1950s
