Panvel is a most populated, planned city and a municipal council in Raigad district in the state of Maharashtra. Panvel is also known as the gateway of Konkan region. It is located in Navi Mumbai(Raigad district) and is just after the Thane district border. Panvel is the starting point of the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway-NH 4, about 21 kilometres from Mumbai. Panvel is also starting point of the Kokan region in the west side of western ghats
