Soplaviento is a municipality in Colombia located in the department of Bolívar , on the banks of the Canal Dock. It is situated 55 km from the capital, Cartagena de Indias . Its district bordered to the north by the department of the Atlantic , south Mahates , on the west by San Estanislao and on the east by San Cristóbal .

The town was founded by Pedro Hereida on November 13, 1533, and became a municipality on October 30, 1908
