The town is located about 65 km from the city of Chiquinquirá , capital of the province and is bordered to the north by Otanche and Pauna , south Muzo eastward with Maripí and Pauna and west with Otanche.
San Pablo de Borbur is also known as "the town of Colombia emerald" for its many sites in their jurisdiction
