Orito is a Colombian municipality located in
the Putumayo Department. Orito grew around
camps exploitation of oil in the Amazon piedmont from The 1963 population
growth was accelerated by the high migration of people from the rest of
Colombia attracted by oil exploitation. In 1978
it was declared Orito municipality
