Morroa Municipality is located northeast of the department Department Sucre (Montes subregion of Mary), on the Atlantic coast, north of Colombia . He was elevated to the category of town for the first time 1855, lost in this category in 1928, but shortly afterwards, and by means of a legal battle was ratified as a township

The village, easily accessible, is located 15 km northeast of the city of Sincelejo , capital of the department of Sucre .
