Montelibano, the capital of St. George is a city and municipality in the northwest of the Republic of Colombia, in the department of Córdoba. Situated in the valley of the San Jorge River and with a population of 85,000 inhabitants approximately, is currently one of the most important economic, commercial and cultural centers of the region.

It was founded around 1907 by sabaneros settlers took the fertile land and location to form the new town.
