Portillo is a winter sport in Chile . Skiing in Portillo is famous thanks to the "dry" snow found in the area. Portillo is located near South America's highest mountain Aconcagua , the skiing is therefore at high altitudes (ie, above 2500 m asl).
It organized world championships in alpine skiing in 1966
